It's that time of year again! Where we all get to wear those dark, rich colors that would make us sweltering in the summer, but toasty and chic looking in the fall breeze. Here, I will be showing you ways to look good AND stay warm (AND school appropriate, err mostly.)
OUTFIT #1: SENSIBLE AND HIP
This first outfit is probably one of the most "fall" appropriate looks on the list here. It begins with simple dark, comfy pants and pine green knit sweater. But to amp up the look a bit, she added the ever-so-trendy, wrap-around-the-waist, jean jacket. This seriously adds some edge and fun to look. The tan scarf adds some warmth to both the outfit and neck by with a thick and long material. Finally, she finishes with a somewhat noticeable, loose interpretation of Celine's Phantom bag in a dark tan, suede finish and a old timer's watch which for me, ties in the whole look.
OUTFIT #2: FURR-DON'T-CURR
This picture is one of my favorites. I love the contrast between a large puffed furry jacket and the simple yet tantalizing strappy heels. It creates a great sartorial balance between too-much and barely-there, which reeks casual elegance.
OUTFIT #3: REFINED STREET-STYLE
This outfit is something I would wear in the daytime either to school, out to run some errands, or even to catch an early movie by myself. (Yes, I do the latter when I'm desperate to watch a movie that no one else seems to care for.) This is simplicity at its finest. Hair thrown back, plain white crew neck sweater and some jeans and flats. However, these jeans add a bit of style with its zipped across pockets and shortened cuff. The shoes are my favorite. The nude colored asymmetrical design adds some femininity to balance out the edgy look of the pants, black colored bag and jacket.
OUTFIT #4: IDC BUT I LOOK GREAT.
Jeans and a tee are all you really need. However, this look is exceptionally great because the jeans are of a loose fit and cuffed right above the ankle, which deserves an A plus. Throw on a well-fitted hat and you're on your way to looking "I didn't try, but I know I still look great." Have fun and determine your own modes and preferences: unbuttoned or not.
OUTFIT #5: EASY, BREEZY
Now I know this look is very autumnal, but you must give it a try if you have the chance. This kaftan-like mixed ao dai type of outfit is GOLD. This look is so effortless and comfortable yet so diverse. I could wear this out in a random vineyard or apple picking orchard in California, yet have this very same ensemble walking down a catwalk somewhere on the opposite side of the country in New York. Even though this look is all loose, make sure you get the proportions right or else it may seem as though you've just walked into a fabric store and it swallowed you whole.
OUTFIT #6: SCHOOL X COOL
Meet preppy X chic. This look also screams fall with the multiple layers. I love how you're able to wear a skirt in the cold by having a dark plaid print, tights, and warm articles of clothing decorating the upper half. Wear this to school, out and about to shop, or possibly to an interview!
OUTFIT # 7: RISKY BUSINESS
Seven's my favorite prime number, so this look should be my favorite as well. That, or I'm too inane to organize these outfits in a systematic order and resulted with this as the last example. Either way, this is a superb look, something I would wear often to the point where classmates would hear my name and picture me in this kind of outfit. It's always nice when the collar pops out of the sweater and you have to roll up the dress shirt's sleeve to cover the sweater's sleeves. The cheetah or leopard or lion or even zebra, (who knows how to distinct cheetah vs. leopard print, anyway) espadrilles throw in a little sass, spunk and everything nice into the outfit.
The best look is confidence!
