I've never thought much of high school golf. I always focused on golf as an individual. Ever since I was young, my dream was to be a golf prodigy. Before high school, I belittled playing golf for high school. I thought of it as just a thing to replace P.E. that I was incompetent at. I thought to myself I'll just play to place in CIF or just to get extra practice. I never thought I would make impactful friendships.
Last Sunday, it was my last golf banquet. I'm a senior now and team captain of the FVHS Varsity Girls '14 golf team. It didn't hit me that my high school career was coming to an end, graduation was near until my teammates presented me a signed picture frame of myself. It contained heart-felt written words from my entire team reminding me of each individual. I held in tears while reading what the girls had to say about me. When my coach presented me this award, I felt like this is where childhood ends. I will soon learn the harsh reality of life after high school that everyone around me has exaggerated it to be.
Just yesterday, I was a freshmen with braces that was on the varsity golf team and now I've already submitted my UC application to UCLA . Next Wednesday, November 12th, 2014, I will be signing my national letter of intent with UCLA. I feel like time went by so fast with all the ups and downs of a regular high school teenager. It seems to me now, I don't regret any part of my high school journey. I appreciate everything that has happened to me. I've had amazing teachers, every single one of them care about their student and try to bring the best of them.
I'm just a senior that just turned 17 with a passion for golf, wandering with the wind and smelling the roses.
