Last Sunday, she turned seventeen. For a long moment, I came to realize how much we've been through together. As we were celebrating with her closest friends, my mind started to overflow with emotional thoughts and unforgettable memories.
From the start of middle school, Viv and I have been inseparable. Even in high school when most people branch out to different groups and activities, we still remained close in our circle of friends. It hasn't been easy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It would be an understatement to say that she's one of the reasons I am still alive and enjoying life right this second. Although she can be a pain in my behind, I don't mind one bit.
For the past seven years, life has been a crazy and unforgettable experience. From all the times we stayed up late playing League of Legends, had baking and Netflix days, went on food adventures, and webcam-ed until dawn, I always had a smile on my face. The secrets we share, the laughs we cackled, and the feelings we bluntly let out, will always be sealed inside my heart.
When high school started, I was in choir and Viv was in pep squad. It was sometimes hard trying to find times where we were both free to hang out. Yet, our complicated schedules didn't stop us from going on our "bestie dates" and just catching up. We rarely ever had intertwined schedules; but when we did, it was always no doubt my favorite class of the day. I think having a class together made us closer. I'm not sure whether it was because we both helped each other with homework and projects, or because we somehow always got seated next to each other, but I'm grateful either way.
She's caring, thoughtful, hilarious, energetic, insightful, gorgeous, eccentric, vulgar, intelligent, loud, the life of a party, trustworthy, and amazing.
She's my homie, my ride-or-die, my best friend for life.
